YSRCP leaders condemn demolition of statues

  • Tribute to Mahatma Gandhi
  • Fury at Chandrababu’s tyrannical ways
  • Call for ‘Quit Andhra Pradesh’
Vijayawada: YSRCP leaders stated that it was time to chase Chandrababu away from the state. They slammed TDP Government’s intolerance towards statues, temples and leaders. Leaders Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, Botsa Satyanarayana, Kolusu Parthasarathy and Jogi Ramesh visited the area where Mahatma Gandhi’s statue had recently been removed in Ibrahimpatnam of Krishna district. They decorated the newly-arranged statue of Gandhiji with flower garlands and paid homage to him.
Speaking on this occasion, Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy criticised TDP Government for deliberately demolishing Gandhiji’s statue. He called for ‘Quit Andhra Pradesh’ programme in protest towards atrocities of Chandrababu’s Government.
Botsa Satyanarayana spoke to raise the slogan “Quit Chandrababu-Save AP”. He demanded apology from Chandrababu for inhumanely demolishing statues. He also demanded action against district-level officers.
Parthasarathy, while his speech during the occasion, complained that Chandrababu had been ordering for removal of statues although they did not stand obstructive to anyone. He recollected how the statues of Dr.YS Rajasekhar Reddy and Mahatma Gandhi had been demolished and criticised the intolerance of the Government. He remarked that demolition of statues would not vacate their place from people’s hearts. He called for people to chase away the intolerant and incompetent chief minister from the state.
