It is unjust to hold the sessions for just 5 days

  • No poll promises have been realised yet
  • People in the state are suffering
  • The sessions should be held for 4 weeks
  • Ummareddy venkateswarlu speaks in Legislative Council
Hyderabad: YSRCP MLC Ummareddy venkateswarlu slammed the Government for holding the assembly sessions for only 5 days, while there was a lot to discuss about people's problems. He suggested that the sessions should be held for the benefit of the state and not just namesake. Speaking in the media conference at the party's central office, he mentioned that the state was in severe drought due to lack of precipitation. Farmers were unable to pay interest on their loans to the banks or to cultivate crops.
Here is what he spoke
  • There is severe drought in the state. All classes of people are suffering with problems.
  • While the state should be enjoying cultivation in 40.95 lakh hectares, not even 30% of it could be accomplished.
  • As the state Government could not implement waiver of loans,  the farmers are not able to pay interest on their loans.
  • The monsoon session of the legislative assembly should be held for 3-4 weeks.
  • Swiss challenge, special category status, capital land mafia, elimination of 500 welfare guest houses and many more issues should be discussed. Five days are hardly enough for that.
  • Not one house was built for the poor in the past 2.5 years of TDP rule.
  • Somayajulu committee appointed to probe the fateful stampede incident that happened during Godavari pushkarams has not yet given a report.
  • Devotion and spirituality was nowhere to be seen in Krishna pushkarams. It was held like a Telugu Desam Party's programme.
  • It is not correct to think GST bill could just be accepted.
  • Demolition of temples, mosques, churches and statues in the state in atrocious.
  • No other than state in India has a rule as tyrannical as this.
  • The whole state knows that a huge scam has taken place in the matter of Sadavarthi choultry's lands.
  • Reservation for Kapu community was promised to be completed before September. Till now the matter is untouched.
  • The state is ranked 30 in GDP. It is shameful of TDP to announce otherwise that the state was developing.
  • Not one of the poll promises were realised in the past 2.5 years.
  • The unemployed, the farmers and many others were left clueless.
  • The issue of poll promises should be allowed detailed discussion in the assembly.
  • TDP leaders are accused in the case of gangster Nayeem. They owe an explanation to people.
  • TDP is indifferent to Telangana Government's statements that they have right on Krishna waters.
  • There is not one drop of water n Krishna Delta. Water provision from Pattiseema remained a dream.
  • the unemployed waiting for jobs are becoming ineligible due to age.
  • As principal opposition party, we are warning the Government in advance. The sessions can't be held namesake. They should be held for at least four weeks.
