TDP ploy of defection will backfire

New Delhi, Feb 23: In a vitriolic attack on Chandrababu Naidu, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has said that his moves of engineering defections from the opposition party would boomerang and the people’s mandate would be heavily loaded in favor of YSR Congress as the anti-incumbency has reached a high peak.
‘Chandrababu Naidu has been trying for the past six months luring all our party leaders to cross over and his efforts could take only four leaders to his side but in the coming days the scene would change for good as TDP with its faulty policies cannot win in the people’s court,’ he told reporters after meeting the President here on Tuesday.
Chandrababu Naidu may delay the disqualification and the imminent by-election but he cannot deny the democratic process which will teach him a lesson and eventual scenario would be totally different, he said and thanked other MLAs for not taking the bait.
Clarifying on the remarks of Chief Minister that TDP MLAs were in touch with him and the government would be toppled, Jagan said:’ what I told was that I do not have numbers on my side and when the numbers come, the government will fall. He is using this answer of mine to a question by media as an alibi for engineering the defections but the exercise will boomerang.’
The four persons who left have answer to the people as to what they would reply when they ask about the failure of Chandrababu Naidu in fulfilling he poll promises.
Striking an emotional chord, he said when Sobha Nagi Reddy died in the accident my entire family shared the grief and we treated the Bhuma members as our own family’.
‘In two years time, Chandrababu Naidu could lure two MPs and four members of the legislature. In the third year things would be different as leaders and people will be distancing themselves from TDP,’ he said.
When leaders wanted to join YSRCP, I have asked them to seek a fresh mandate and they came into the party fold unlike Chandrababu Naidu who came to power through backdoor and manipulations usurping the mandate given to NTR, he said.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was in the capital to meet President, Prime Minister and the Home Minister to submit a memorandum on the special package, Tuni arson, corruption and other issues. While the President has given the appointment and took the representation, the Prime Minister and Home Minister were preoccupied with the ongoing agitation of Jats.
