Spl. Status only way for development

Kakinada, May 10: Reiterating that special status is the only option for the development of the state, Leader of Opposition YS Jagan MIohan Reddy has said that Chanrababu Naidu’s silence stems through his fear of going to jail in wake of the various scams he is involved in and has been placing his personal agenda ahead of the state welfare.

‘It is only through special status that the state will roll on the development path with investors coming in with numerous incentives and exemptions they get through the special status, but this is not accorded as Chandrababu Naidu is silent and is scared to raise the issue at the Centre as he is facing serious charges,’ YSR Congress Party President said while addressing a huge gathering here on Tuesday as part of the state wide dharna demanding special status. He later submitted a memorandum to the district collector highlighting the need for special status.
During the division of the state, TDP and BJP joined the Congress in the bifurcation and it was assured in the parliament that the state would get special status for five years in lieu of Hyderabad and the TDP-BJP went ahead and asked for 10 years and the same was told in no uncertain terms during the electioneering.

After coming to power the issue was totally forgotten and Chandrababu Naidu has never raised it as he seems to be scared of going to jail in wake of the numerous charges he is facing. He is not in a position to give an ultimatum to the Centre that he will pull out of the coalition if the special status is not given to the state.
‘His silence has emboldened the Centre which has sternly told the Parliament that the issue of special status to Andhra Pradesh is not possible. Still Chandrababu Naidu continues to be the coalition partner and never utters a word against the Centre as he places his personal agenda ahead of the state interests and has been deceiving all sections of people,’ he said.
Chandrababu Naidu has promised to provide jobs to the youth or pay unemployment stipend. He got the job of Chief Minister but the youth failed to get employment and special status, which has a huge potential of employment generation, has been put on the backburner and he is acting dumb.
We have raised issue at various quarters and I sat on an indefinite fast ahead of the Prime Minister Narender Modi’s visit to the state but my fast was foiled. We did not lose heart as special status is an issues concerning the five crore people of the state. We went to Delhi with our MLAs, MPs and other leaders and staged a dharna at Delhi and brought the issue to national limelight.
‘Still Chandrababu Naidu did not react and failed to seek the special status. On the contrary, he started changing tunes and water down the issue. This has given Delhi the leverage to side-step the issue and speak against the sanction of special category status to Andhra Pradesh.
As special status is the only way to bring in rapid industrialisation and provide jobs to the youth we will continue the fight and be voice of the people. If special status is accorded, Chandrababu Naidu need not go to Singapore, Japan and other places as every district will turn into Hyderabad and there will be rapid development.
Chandrababu Naidu is so scared of the Telangana government after the cash for vote case was exposed with the AVs providing enough proof, he has been silent even when KCR has been drawing water from Mahbubnagar which is affecting the inflow to Srisailam and Nagarjuna sagar.

He has been buying MLAs paying Rs 20 to 30 cores to each and from where he got the Rs 400 crores to buy 17 legislators is a question which needs an answer, he said.
