YSRCP dharna on May 2

Hyderabad, April 29: YSR Congress will hold dharnas at all mandal and constituency headquarters on May 2 highlighting the failure of the TDP Government in mitigating the severe drought situation that is sweeping across the state and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy along with senior leaders will take part in the dharna programme at Macharla.
‘The state has completely failed in tackling the severe drought the state is facing and could not spell out the contingency plan for the impending drought as a result there is acute drinking water shortage and lack of fodder to livestock while the State has laid its priority in buying MLAs and logging the tally on a daily basis leaving the pressing people’s problems to lurch,’ party leader K Parthasarathi told reporters here on Friday.
In protesting against the inefficiency and indifference of the government in planning and tackling the drought, our Party will hold dharnas at mandal headquarters and RDOs at constituency headquarters, he said.
While the state is facing severe drought, TDP seems to be facing a drought of MLAs which is being tackled with priority while the actual drought is left out as there were no instructions to the Collectors ahead of the summer season of any contingency plan resulting in the increase of the severity of the drought conditions.
Agriculture operations were not taken up in half of the cultivable land in the rabi season which shows that the government has been shirking its responsibility on this front. Instead it has been taking away the people into a dreamland by stating that Ananthapur would be made into a lush field on par with Konaseema in the coming days. But the acute drinking water shortage and lack of fodder to livestock which are the indicators of drought are not talked about.
The state has been making tall claims of interlinking of rivers and providing water to Krishna delta while the reality is otherwise.

Jobs will come if Babu comes to power was TDP election slogan but it seems that Drought comes when Babu comes to power and more so, the state makes no effort in creating jobs or mitigating drought as well, he said.
