Disqualify defectors, seek fresh mandat

Hyderabad, April 16: Rubbishing the survey reports that Chandrababu Naidu has no alternative, YSR Congress has dared TDP to disqualify the defectors and seek a fresh mandate which would clear the chalk from cheese.
‘The publicity stunt of such sponsored surveys has been an old habit of Chandrababu Naidu contrary to the anti-incumbency that has set in very deeply due to his anti-people policies and we dare the TDP leader to disqualify the defectors and seek a fresh mandate which will show the popularity graph,’ party leader Ambati Rambabu told reporters here on Saturday.
The same institution which has conducted the survey and gave its report stating that there is no alternative to Chandraabu Naidu in the state had earlier said in 2004 that TDP will retain power and Chandrababu Naidu would be heading for a hat-trick. What happened was known to everyone as TDP lost very badly at the hands of YSR. The credibility of the agency has taken a severe beating and it is the same agency which has again conducted the survey and pronounced that there is no alternative to Chanrababu Naidu.
‘If that is the case and if people believe that Chandrababu Naidu is so efficient, we demand that the 11 MLAs who crossed over, should be disqualified and seek a fresh mandate. It is will be decided in the people’s court as to who is popular,’ he said.
The very fact that the ruling party is luring leaders from opposition offering huge sops shows that it stands on a sticky wicket with the anti-people policies and the anti-incumbency factor is seething as all sections of people are badly affected.
An election at this junction will clearly establish on whose side the people are, he said.
Earlier, leaders of all the 13 districts have attended a meeting chaired by party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and worked out an agitation programme to protest against the indifference of the state in mitigating the severe drought in the state, he said.
