Visakhapatnam, April 18: Affirming that the fight for a special railway zone has just begun, Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has said that Chandrababu Naidu lost his face before the Centre in wake of the various scams he has been involved in and cannot broach the development issue at Delhi, he has also lost the faith of people and if he disqualifies the defectors and goes to polls the it will be pronounced in a loud and clear mandate against him
Speaking to media after visiting Amarnath Reddy, who was ejected from the dharna site where he was on an indefinite strike demanding a special railway zone for Vizag, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said: ’ The government must be thinking that by foiling the hunger strike, the issue has come to an end. But it has just begun and we will take it forward and fight it out till our just demand it met.
Andhra Pradesh State has no railway zone and this was the assurance given by the Centre while dividing the State. Amarnath has written letters to all the concerned and gave advance notice about his indefinite strike which he began on Ambedkar Jayanthi.
Thanking the left parties, Lok Satta, other political parties, trade union bodies and social organizations for extending solidarity for the cause of Railway Zone, he said,’ the region would benefit and employment opportunities would increase if a railway zone is created.
Two years after coming into power Chandrababu Naidu has no time to remind about the railway zone which would provide employment opportunities and a status to the region, besides Polavaram and Special status as he has to wriggle out of the various scams and evade an inquiry from the cash for vote and other issues.
He has lost the moral courage and voice to speak and is betraying the five crore people of the state for his personal issues.
He has been indulged in buying MLAs in both states through the ill-gotten wealth which he amassed through kickbacks and large-scale corruption but has been giving a build-up that he has the support of the people and has been spreading lies that his governance has been good.
Not a single election promise was fulfilled from waiver of loans to farmers and DWACRA groups, creating jobs and giving unemployment stipend. Many contract workers are not getting salaries and their future hangs in a balance and Chandrababu Naidu has been silent on the issue.
‘The anti-incumbency has been on the rise and all sections of people are unhappy about the policies which are adversely affecting him. If he is so confident about his governance and popularity we demand that he disqualify the defectors and seek a fresh mandate.
The results would show how much people are against the government as they are badly affected. I dare Chandrababu Naidu to disqualify the defectors and sort out the popularity issue in the people’s court. He is afraid to speak to the coalition partner at the Centre on various issues of the State fearing an inquiry in the charges he is facing and he is afraid to go to the people with the fear of rejection,’ he said.
