Hyderabad: Affirming that the people had vent their dissent over the state and Central governments on the special category status, YS Jagan has said they would go to any extent to achieve the goal. ‘People have voluntarily participated in the bandh rejecting the stand of BJP and TDP on the special category status and it is not just stalling the assembly but we will also confront Chief Minister to achieve the goal,’ the Leader of Opposition told reporters here on Saturday.
The state assembly has released videos showing the Party MLAs protesting atop the benches. Not just that we will not go back to even confront the Chief Minister to achieve the goal, he said. Chandrababu Naidu going to the Council and trying to water down the special category status is highly condemnable and he has been speaking on a negative tone on the issue as he has compromised after the cash for vote exposure and the ACB court directive.
He has been trying to underplay the importance of special status by saying that the northeast states could not see any development despite the status. We will fight it out relentlessly for special status, he said and thanked all the political parties, social organisations and all sections of people who made the bandh a huge success despite the efforts of the state to foil it.
