The YSRCP has decided to go whole hog on the issue of special status to the state of Andhra Pradesh. Though YS Jagan's deeksha was foiled by high-handed police and the TDP government, the party has decided to continue the stir in other forms.
According to party leaders, a slew of protest programmes have been chalked out. On Wednesday, the party leaders, including MLAs, MLCs and MPs, would take out a mark from PW grounds to CM camp office in Vijayawada to protest against the foiling of Deeksha.
On October 18, rallies would be taken out at all the constituencies of Andhra Pradesh to highlight the demand for special status. On October 19, there would be dharnas in front of government offices in the state. Candle rallies would be organised on October 20. On October 21, the YSRCP activists would stage a sit-in in front of all the RTC bus depots in the state. all the constitencies participate relaydekshalu on October 17th to 21.
According to party spokesperson Ambati Rambabu, the protests would be further intensified till the state and the centre accept to give special status to AP.
Senior YSRCP leaders YV Subba Reddy, Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, Botsa Satyanarayana and Vijay Sai Reddy earlier met YS Jagan and discussed the future course of action on the issue of special status to Andhra Pradesh. Earlier, major leaders of the party met at the Guntur party office.
