YSRCP flays dictatorial attitude of TDP

Hyderabad, Feb 4: Condemning the dictatorial attitude of the TDP government and the restrictions imposed for entering East Godavari district, YSR Congress has said that Chandrababu Naidu is trying to create a wedge between BCs and Kapus.

‘Police imposing restrictions on people entering East Godavari district is in violation of the fundamental rights and seeking an undertaking from the personnel of a police station that they would not support or take part in any agitation is highly objectionable,’ party senior leader Botsa Satyanarayana told reporters here on Thursday.

‘While Chandrababu Naidu says that his government has given permission to the Kapu meeting at Tuni, the police negate that version. TDP is continuing with its dictatorial attitude by depriving people of the fundamental rights as they cannot hold meeting, they cannot express themselves, they cannot move freely in the State and such actions are bound to have adverse affects.

The arson at Tuni has come from the pent up anger of people against the Government failing to implement its poll promises, he said.

Chandrababu Naidu has been pitting BCs against Kapus and trying to take political advantage instead of solving the issue amicably.

The BC leader from Telangana who is threatening to go on a strike if Kapus are included in the BC list should answer as to why he was silent when 32 castes were removed from the BC list in that state.

‘We have made it very clear that we are seeking reservations without  affecting the existing beneficiaries,’ he said.

Chandrababu should at least open his eyes

Kakinada: “Even 22 months after the forming the government, Chandrababu Naidu has not been able resolve the issue of reservation for the Kapu community” said YRSCP president and opposition leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Y.S. Jagan on Tuesday consoled the family of Venkata Ramanamurthy, who on Monday committed suicide in the Kakinada Collectorate for the sake of inclusion of the Kapus in the BC list. Addressing the media after that, Y.S Jagan said that Ramanamurthy had given up his life so that Chandrababu would open his eyes to the issue; and demanded that at least now the CM should not linger on the issue anymore and include the Kapus in the BC list.

Y.S Jagan also stated that Chandrababu should examine how Tamil Nadu is able to allocate 69% for reservations. He alleged that Chandrababu is only pretending to not know about this and if he really did not know then he should travel to Tamil Nadu and learn how they are able to provide reservations.

Y.S. Jagan stated that it was not right to set up a commission without providing proper guidelines and pointed out that Kaka Kalelkar, in 1953, had recognized the Kapus as BC. “Chandrababu should at least open his eyes now after Ramanamurthy’s suicide and implement what was promised to the Kapus in the elections”, he said.

He called for the government to come to the aid of Ramanamurthy’s family and also reiterated his call for everyone to come together and fight and achieve their goal.

Join the fight for spl. Status

Srikakulam, Feb 2: Appealing the youth to join the fight for achieving special status to the State which is the only way to put the state on the path of development, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has said that Chandrababu Naidu has been putting his personal agenda ahead of state interests and has not been questioning the Centre on the issue.

‘It was Narender Modi, who shared the dais with Venkaiah Naidu and Chandrababu Naidu at Tirupati during electioneering, who assured that special status would be accorded to Andhra Pradesh if the NDA is voted to power but has gone back now.

The Chief Minister cannot broach the subject as he has to wriggle out of the cash for vote and other scams and he places his personal interests ahead of state development,’ the Leader of Opposition said addressing the Yuva Bheri here on Tuesday as part of creating awareness on the special status and its benefits including the employment opportunities to the youth.

The credibility of the leader is at stake if he goes back on the promise and that is exactly what is happening as the Centre and State governments do not speak of special status and the youth will be deprived of employment opportunities, he said.

The special status gives the state an edge over other states as 90% of the central funding would be in the form of grants which need not be repaid besides there would rapid industrialization as there would be many concessions in the form of exemption of taxes and duty which leads to the growth of employment opportunities manifold as it has happened in Uttarkhand that has seen a rise of 490 % hike in jobs after getting special status.

The special status was assured during the division of the State by the Prime Minister in the Parliament and a cabinet decision was taken and a letter was sent to Planning Commission to accord five years of special status to Andhra Pradesh in lieu of losing the cash cow Hyderabad city where the IT and manufacturing units are concentrated.

Despite all such developments, the Centre does not take the initiative and Chandrababu Naidu has no face to mount pressure by giving an ultimatum to withdraw support to the Centre as he has to come out of the numerous charges from cash for vote to liquor, sand, coal and other scams, he said.

Chandrababu Naidu is trying to cover up the actual reason of not pressing for a special status by underplaying it and spreading false notions about it and twisting the tongue by speaking about special package which by no means is a substitute to special status.

Narender Modi during his electioneering has promised to give a special package of Rs 70,000 crore to Jammu & Kashmir which has a population of 1.25 crore population. In that proportion how much should Andhra Pradesh with a population of 5 crores get as a special package is one way to look at the Centre’s method of calculation.

But Chandrababu Naidu is unable to pressurize the Centre as he is neck deep in scams from Call Money sex racket, to land, sand and liquor mafias and has been getting kickbacks from every shady deal.

When the State was divided it was accounted that there are 1, 42,808 jobs in Andhra Pradesh. Chandrababu Naidu has promised to provide one job to every family or give Rs 2,000 as unemployment stipend and TDP has distributed pamphlets carrying his signature.

After coming to power, instead of providing jobs and regularizing the services, he started downsizing employees by removing 35,000 field assistants and the contract workers have no security for their jobs. APPSC notification was not given and the calendar was not released. Youngsters who have passed DSC are waiting for jobs while the state has been sending feelers that there is excess staff after taking up the cluster schools concept.

We have to fight it out in tandem seeking special status which is the only      way to get more employment opportunities and development, he said.

Extended Support to Kapus

YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy extended his support to  Kapu reservations. Here are the highlights of the press conference that he addressed on Monday.

* KAPUS FRUSTRATED: On Kapu issue, he is blaming the YSRCP and the Congress. But, even BJP leader Kanna Lakshminarayana attended the meet. He is not talking about it. He did everything possible to ensure that the meeting flops. He tried to stop the people from attending the meeting. He asked the Kapus in his party not to attend the meeting.

* PRESSURE TACTICS: It is Chandrababu who created unrest in Tuni to blame the Opposition party. He is now trying to emotionally blackmail the TV channels so that they are afraid of covering Kapu agitation. Kapu leader and the then minister Hari Rama Jogaiah had said that the TDP had killed Vangaveeti Ranga. One of the accused in Ranga murder is Speaker of AP Assembly today. The other is a minister and another is an MLA from Vizag.

* DIVIDING COMMUNITIES: Chandrababu is trying to drive a wedge between Kapus and BCs. In the past, he did left the SCs divided into Malas and Madigas. Kapus were BCs till 1956. Tamil Nadu has 69 percent reservations. He too can do a similar thing by bringing pressure on the Centre to amend the constitution. The commission he has now appointed has no direction and guidance. If he is sincere, he should withdraw his ministers from the Central government if it is not getting a constitutional amendment.

* ADVICE TO KAPUS: The Kapu agitation is fully justified. But, my only appeal is to ensure that there is restraint. Let the agitation be peaceful lest the Chief Minister blame Kapus for violence.

Chandrababu is Criminal No.1

YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy lambasted Chandrababu Naidu for blaming others for his mistakes on Kapu reservations. Here are the highlights of the press conference that he addressed on Monday. senior YSRCP leaders Botsa Satyanarayana and Ummareddy Venkateswarlu were also present.

* SELF-PRAISE, CRITICISM OF OTHERS:Chandrababu's presser on Sunday evening on Kapu stir is a classic case of self-praise and criticism of others. This shows how low he can stoop. He makes mistakes and blames them on others.

* BUNDLE OF FLIPFLOPS: Chandrababu's press meet is a bundle of flip flops. He spoke at length, but did not specifically tell what he would do to the Kapus and when he would do them.

* CRIMINAL NO 1: The people are frustrated because Chandrababu has given them lot of promises, but did precious little to implement them. The anger is spread across the castes, groups, regions and religions as he has duped the people. Why can't he be deemed as a Criminal No 1 for duping the people?

* DUPED EVERYONE: Be it crop and Dwcra loan waiver, call money scam, pattiseema project or jobs for the unemployed youth, he has duped on all issues.

* FALSE CLAIMS ON GROWTH: His argument that he is unable to pay the salaries to the employees and that he has other other contraints does not hold good as he is claiming 11.77 per cent growth for AP. Isn't this a contradiction?

TDP ignoring civic laws

Hyderabad, Jan 29: Ridiculing the style of functioning of TDP government, YSR Congress has said that it has no faith elected representatives to the civic bodies and has left the concerned laws in the lurch.

‘Chandrababau Naidu, who has been boasting of civic amenities in the GHMC election, has been making a mockery of the Municipal Act by not abiding to its provisions,’ party senior leader Botsa Satyanarayana told reporters here on Friday.

Though the Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Machilipatnam municipalities have been upgraded to Corporations, why elections were not held there and the status of the three civic bodies has been very ambiguous, he said. The Minister for Municipal Administration and concerned officials should clarify on the issue.

The state has released Rs 2,000 crores for the company which has questionable credentials for the Polavaram project only for the sake of kickbacks, he said.

Government should clear all crop lones: Parthasarathi

Hyderabad, Jan 28: Reiterating that TDP government has been pursuing its anti-farmer and mercantile agenda, YSR Congress has said the notification of zones in and around the capital area mirrors the policy of the State.

‘The notification on demarcating agri zones indiscriminately leaving away multi-crop areas only shows that the government wants to create a boom in the capital region which it plans to give it to Singapore companies and Chandrababu Naidu’s coterie for development,’ party spokesperson K Parthasarathi told reporters here on Thursday.

The notification dividing the Krishna and Guntur into zones makes it clear that Krishna district is getting a raw deal as no construction can come up for 35 years in 15 lakh acres which are mostly upland areas while fertile lands are given away to foreign companies on a platter and there is no justification, he said. The zonal system would put heavy concentration in one area giving way to regional disparities.

Chandrababu Naidu has been stating that all agricultural loans were waived though the latest Bankers’ Report show that farm loans work out to Rs 91,415 crores. We demand that the government clear all the loans and release water for the Rabi crop and clear the due to paddy farmers which run into Rs 2,000 crores.
